Personal Assistant

Reports to: Relevant Partners/Fee Earners


The role of a PA in A&L Goodbody provides an opportunity for involvement in multi-jurisdictional matters/projects working with an international client base.
PAs provide essential administration support to Partners/Fee Earners by facilitating them to meet client expectations as the first point of contact with clients.
PAs are part of a wider team who provide support to a group of Partners/Fee Earners and contribute to the smooth running of the Firm.


PA Experience

  • Experience of working as a Legal PA in a professional services/partnership environment
  • Experience of anticipating Partner/Fee Earner needs to deliver a pro-active PA service
  • An ability to deal discreetly with all tasks and activities in a professional and confidential manner
  • Experience of diary management including scheduling of meetings and organisation of all travel arrangements
  • An ability to time-manage to ensure prioritisation of work
  • Have exceptional attention to detail

Technical Skills

  • Current working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Experience of using digital dictation systems such as Bighand
  • Experience of using time recording and invoicing systems such as Expert
  • Experience of matter inception and working with document management systems such as Filesite

Organisation Skills

  • Experience of professional and efficient management of client interaction
  • Experience of working as part of a team in the department of a professional services/partnership environment
  • An ability to proactively work as a team member balancing a range of disparate tasks and activities
  • Experience of managing a filing and archiving system within a busy professional department
  • Experience in the safe keeping and destruction of confidential information


  • Relevant Legal PA experience in a professional services/partnership environment 
  • Microsoft Office Specialist qualification or similar evidence of relevant computer training is preferred but not essential
  • Relevant 3rd level qualification is preferred but not essential
