We offer comprehensive services from shipping finance to litigation to clients in the shipping sector. We are the primary Irish point of reference for banks financing passenger ferries, container ships or fishing vessels.
In the area of litigation, marine law specialists in our Litigation Group advise on admiralty issues such as ship arrest and issues relating to the purchase, sale or leasing of vessels. We also assist clients with litigation relating to carriage of goods, cargo claims and in establishing or defending salvage rights.
We also advise on corporate recovery issues such as dealing with shipping companies, lenders and investors in financial difficulty.
Our shipping finance team is actively involved in the syndicate financing of vessels under the Irish Government’s white fish fleet renewal scheme for fishing vessels. We also have expertise in all aspects of shipping finance including tax-based leasing.
We are actively involved in the Irish Maritime Development Office Advisory Group. This body was established to review the Irish shipping industry and has made recommendations for the development and implementation of a plan to bring Ireland to the forefront of the world’s shipping industry.
We also have world pre-eminence in the area of European Union and competition law for the shipping sector.
