Mark Rasdale is a Partner in the IP and Technology Group. His focus is on technology development, procurement, supply and exploitation and related transactions, including systems integration, managed services, shared services, ICT and business process outsourcing. He is also involved in resolution related legal work in connection with troubled technology projects.
Mark advises on general commercial transactions, intellectual property and data protection matters for a broad range of A&L Goodbody clients and is involved in strategic technology focussed legal due diligence and transitional technology services arrangements on corporate acquisitions and re-organisations.
In addition to his customer side technology work, Mark has significant experience of the operations and approach of large technology and consulting services providers having worked (both in private practice and as an in-house lawyer) for global IT suppliers on both private and public sector deals in Dublin and, in London, where he also practised for a number of years.
Mark regularly presents at seminars and has been published in legal and business journals in the UK and Ireland, most recently in relation to good practice in technology contracting, trends in cloud computing and security, green IT, social media technology and on the compliance burden in IT. He is co-author of Information Technology Professional Practice Guide (Law Society of Ireland / Cavendish Publishing, 2004).
Mark is a member of the Society for Computers and Law, iTechLaw, the Irish Software Association Procurement Working Group and is admitted as a solicitor in Ireland and in England and Wales. He is a law graduate of University College Cork and has a Masters degree in Law (including intellectual property and information technology law) from University of London (Queen Mary College).
