Peter Murray is a Partner in the Banking and Financial Services Department. He has extensive experience, both legal and commercial, in capital markets, structured finance and general banking.
Peter brings a unique legal and commercial perspective to our capital markets and corporate banking practices having worked for many years as an investment and corporate banker with domestic and international banks.
The clients that Peter has recently advised include:
- IBRC (formerly Anglo Irish Bank) on its transfer of €36bn of loan assets to NAMA
- AIB on its acquisition of the €3.6bn IBRC deposit business and Isle of Man subsidiary and other deleveraging matters
- EBS on its state recapitalisation programme and its merger with AIB
- Irish Life & Permanent on its acquisition of Northern Rock’s Irish banking business and other deleveraging matters
- Real Estate Opportunities on the Irish aspects of its €1 billion group debt restructuring
- A number of non-participating institutions in relation to NAMA
- NAMA in relation to certain restructuring and asset disposal matters
- A number of international private equity investors in relation to acquiring banking assets and establishing Irish investment vehicles
- Canwest Media Inc. in relation to funding matters and the disposal of its Australian business
- Defpa Bank plc in relation to a number of its funding programmes
- Citibank in relation to various banking and capital markets matters
- Toronto Dominion Bank in relation to various corporate, regulatory and funding matters
