Adrian Burke is a partner in the Firm’s Banking and Financial Services Department. His main practice areas are banking, structured finance, securitisation and capital markets. He qualified as a solicitor in 1995 and became a Partner at A&L Goodbody in 2001. Adrian advises leading Irish and international financial institutions as well as borrowers across the full range of financing transactions. He has particular expertise in syndicated lending, debt capital markets, securitisation, restructuring, derivatives and regulatory capital. He is a regular speaker and writer on banking and financial services issues.

- Morgan Stanley as lender and financial adviser on the $1.2bn loan and bond financing of the public takeover by Berkshire Partners of Skillsoft, the Irish online training company
- Permanent TSB on the issue of €400mn of contingent convertible capital notes (coco notes). These were the first such coco notes to be issued and listed in Ireland and are structured to qualify as Tier II regulatory capital
- KBC Bank on the establishment and structuring of a series of Irish law residential mortgage securitisations. These were amongst the first Irish law securitisations carried out fully under Irish law.
- Irish Life & Permanent on its €900mn subordinated debt liability management exercise, €2.4bn State guaranteed bond issues and related US144A offerings.
- Irish Life & Permanent in connection with its acquisition of the €3.6bn deposit book and selected assets of Irish Nationwide Building Society.
- JP Morgan Bank Ireland on its merger with Bear Stearns Bank Ireland.
- JPMorgan on the securitisation of French residential mortgage receivables.
- Hypo Real Estate on a series of synthetic securitisations with a total issuance amount of €5bn.
- Quinn Group on the restructuring of its €1.3bn bank syndicate and bond debt.
- GE Financial Markets on its derivative, repo and other treasury operations.
- Investment banks and other arrangers on securitisations, including RMBS, CMBS, CDOs and CLOs.
- Issuers, arrangers and trustees on debt capital markets transactions including corporate bonds, high-yield bonds, medium term notes, liability management exercises, commercial paper programmes, private placements and regulatory capital securities for financial institutions.
