Alison Fanagan

Alison Fanagan is a Consultant in the Firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department and a former Partner of A&L Goodbody. She is head of environmental and planning.

As a litigator, Alison specialises in judicial review cases, challenging decisions of regulatory and public bodies. She advises on the full spectrum of contentious and non-contentious environmental work including advice on IPPC and waste licensing, third party liability claims, corporate support/due diligence and planning oral hearings particularly for large infrastructural projects. She defends companies and directors against environmental and health and safety prosecutions, planning injunctions and other regulatory enforcement actions.

Amongst Alison’s clients are TK Maxx, Eaton, Anglo Irish American Mining Corporation, Ferrovial Agroman, Panda Waste, Pfizer, Greyhound Waste, Irish Waste Management Association, One51 and Balfour Beatty.

She is recommended in a number of leading legal publications including Chambers Global 2010 and 2011, The Legal 500 2009, 2010 and 2011, PLC Which Lawyer? 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 and Who's Who Legal 2010 and 2011.

Alison is a Council member of the Irish Environmental Law Association, Treasurer of the Health and Safety Lawyers Association of Ireland, a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and has a Masters degree in law from Cambridge University.
