Joe Kelly is a Partner in the Firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department. He has developed a strong litigation practice in the Commercial Court and leads the Specialist Corporate Criminal Offences group.
In his approach to resolving disputes Joe deploys a variety of dispute resolution methods, including litigation in the Commercial Court, mediation, arbitration and expert determination. Joe has developed an extensive white collar practice over the past 15 years and has advised and advises/represents clients caught up in regulatory investigations and/or prosecutions brought in the criminal courts.
Joe's court background, and contacts in the leisure industry, have also seen him develop a boutique practice with Máire Conneely in the Firm’s Leisure and Gaming Groups. With John Cahir, Joe heads up the Firm's Gaming and Betting Group and is the only member of the International Masters of Gaming Law, one of the leading international organisations in this sector.
Joe has been recommended in a number of legal directories including Chambers Europe and Chambers Global - where he is applauded for: "his outstanding abilities as a mediator" (Chambers Global 2011); "extremely client focused" (Chambers Global 2009); "always available and very open with his advice" and; "praised for his very quick response times" (Chambers Global 2008). He is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Irish Branch, and is a practising Arbitrator. He is a founder member of the Irish Commercial Mediation Association and is a practising Mediator, having been involved in over 35 Mediations to date.
