Peter Law is a Partner in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department and is widely experienced in all aspects of commercial litigation, including, but not limited to, contractual disputes and professional negligence. He was Head of the Firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department during the years 2003-2007.
Peter advises both Irish and international clients and semi-state organisations on a wide range of litigation matters. He is presently legal advisor to the Standards in Public Office Commission. He has also acted for the Law Society in various regulatory matters involving solicitors.
He has represented various parties before Tribunals of Inquiry and also before public inquiries set up by Parliamentary Committees. Peter has represented both Inspectors appointed by the High Court under the Companies Act, 1990 and also companies, the subject matter of such investigations. He is experienced in judicial review proceedings, having acted for both Plaintiff and Defendant in such proceedings.
Peter has been recommended by a number of international legal publications in the areas of litigation and dispute resolution, including Best Lawyers 2010, Chambers Global 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011, Chambers Europe 2008 and 2011, PLC Which Lawyer? 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011, The Legal 500 2007 and European Legal Experts 2009.
