Cian McCourt is Resident Partner in the Firm’s New York Office which assists North American corporations and clients on transactions and investments in and through Ireland.
Cian is a Corporate Partner specialising in public and private M&A, securities laws and equity capital markets. Cian has recently worked on transactions in the financial services, ICT, healthcare and renewable energy sectors.

- Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Inc. on its reverse takeover of Azur Pharma and subsequent listing of Jazz Pharmaceuticals plc on NASDAQ.
- Aravis Therapeutics on its takeover offer for AGI Therapeutics plc.
- Elan Corporation plc on the $1bn sale of Elan Drug Technologies to Alkermes Inc. and the listing of Alkermes plc on NASDAQ.
- Trintech Group plc on its take private by Spectrum Equity by court approved scheme of arrangement.
- Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, UBS, Citi and Davy on Bank of Ireland's capital raising projects.
- Morgan Stanley and Barclays on the financing of the $1.1bn takeover offer for Skillsoft plc by Advent, Bain Capital and Berkshire Partners.
- Irish Life & Permanent Group's internal reorganisation and the admission of Irish Life & Permanent Group Holdings plc to the Irish and London Stock Exchanges.
- Irish energy utility Bord Gáis Éireann on its €500m acquisition of SWS Natural Resources and on its acquisition of a number of other wind farm projects.
- Elan Corporation plc, in its $2bn asset disposal programme and its subsequent US$855m equity investment by Johnson & Johnson and related €500m investment.
- Ryanair on the €1.4bn public takeover offer for Aer Lingus and Ryanair’s acquisition of a 29% stake in Aer Lingus.
- Britvic plc's €249m acquisition of the soft drinks and distribution businesses of C&C Group.

Cian was previously based in the Firm’s Dublin office and in the Firm’s London office from 2004 - 2007 where he regularly advised international clients on their activities in Ireland and international law firms, investment banks and other advisors on multi-jurisdictional transactions with an Irish dimension.
