Peter Walker is a Partner in the Banking and Financial Services Department and Resident Partner in our London office. His principal practice areas are asset backed finance, debt capital markets, private equity finance, general banking & restructurings.
Recent transactions which he has advised on include:
- ECB eligible RMBS and CLO securitisations for a number of Irish credit institutions and other European credit institutions
- Securitisations and synthetic securitisations, including RMBS, CMBS, CLO, and CDOs for a number of European and US investment banks and alternative arrangers
- Regs and Rule 144A bond offerings
- General CLOs and other asset class securitisations for various clients including Deutsche Bank AG, Dresdner Bank AG, Citigroup, Mizuho, LBBW
- General insolvency and restructuring advice in respect of Irish structured transactions and financial corporates including acting for creditors in the examination of International Securities Trading Corporation and Structured Credit Company, acting for the appointed insolvency practitioner in respect of the Cheyne SIV Irish vehicles and various Lehman Irish entities;
- Advising many European, US and Middle East private equity firms in respect of US and European performing and distressed debt/equity acquisitions with and without leverage; and
- Advising on Irish aspects of market abuse rules, transparency directive, prospectus directive and stock exchange rules relating to issuers and investors in Irish listed debt.
In addition to the above transactions, Peter has also been involved in a number of trade receivable securitisations including recently acting for Barclays Capital, LBBW, JPMorgan on various multi-jurisdictional trade receivable financing. As well as securitisation and structured products, he advises Irish and international banks on general banking and restructuring issues.
