Barry Walsh

Barry Walsh is a Partner in the Firm’s Employment Law Group. He advises a wide range of corporate and institutional clients on all aspects of Irish employment law from recruitment to retirement including contentious, advisory and transactional work.

Barry has significant experience acting for clients in respect of contractual and termination issues with senior executives. He also advises extensively on employment law and industrial relations issues including transfer of undertaking (TUPE) matters arising from mergers and acquisitions, outsourcing and redundancy situations. He has significant litigation experience and has represented many clients in litigation before the Irish civil courts and all the specialist Irish employment tribunals. He has also represented clients in litigation at the European Court of Justice.

He has spoken at numerous conferences for, amongst others, the Chartered Institute for Personnel and Development (CIPD), the Irish Law Society and Legal Island. Barry contributes regularly to specialist domestic and international HR publications and to the general business media on employment law issues. He also lectures on the Law Society Employment Law diploma and professional training courses. Barry is a member of the Law Society's Employment and Equality Law Committee, the US based Employment Law Alliance, the Employment and Industrial Relations Law section of the IBA and the European Employment Lawyers Association.
