Julian Yarr is the Managing Partner of A&L Goodbody. He specialises in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, securities law and private equity. Julian was previously head of A&L Goodbody's London office.
Over the last number of years he has advised on various high profile transactions including:
- The public takeover offers by Ryanair for Aer Lingus;
- Elan in Alzheimer’s Immunotherapy Agreement with Johnson & Johnson and related equity investment in Elan;
- WPP Group on its migration to Ireland;
- The Stg£170m purchase of the Racing Post Newspaper by FL partners;
- The public takeover of Ely Property Group by Newcourt Group;
- The €3.7bn public takeover of eircom Group by Babcock and Brown;
- The €420m acquisition of the Meteor Mobile Group by eircom and associated rights issue;
- The €887m public takeover by scheme of arrangement of First Active by The Royal Bank of Scotland Group;
- The €90m public takeover of Alphyra Group.
Julian is rated as a leading lawyer in a number of leading legal publications.
