Welcome to the A&L Goodbody trainee web page. I would like to tell you a little about our Firm and why our trainee programme is so important to us.

A&L Goodbody is one of Ireland's largest and most successful corporate law firms, doing interesting and challenging and innovative work for both Irish and international clients.

We act for some of the world's most dynamic and innovative companies. Companies who turn to us time and time again because of the quality of advice and quality of service we provide.

But it's just not this. They see that we can provide dynamic and innovative solutions to their problems or objectives. We have always worked hard to look into the future and anticipate what we need to do to be ahead of the market and be best positioned to meet our clients' needs, whether it be the first Irish law firm to open up in New York in 1979, coming up with the structures and legislative backdrop which kicked off the funds industry in Ireland or our use of knowledge and technology - we strive to be innovative.

We also have offices in London and Belfast and there is the opportunity for our trainees to work in some of these offices during their training programme.

Why is this important? Well as the international market again becomes much more important to Ireland and A&L, we need to be able to tap into and deal with the multitude of international clients who interact with Ireland. We also follow our clients out of Ireland as lead advisers working alongside the best in the city of London and Manhattan island.

A&L Goodbody is a full service, corporate law firm, advising on the broad range of issues which are relevant to corporate clients. From M&A to banking, from IP/IT to investment funds, from aircraft to shipping law, EU and competition and insurance to taxation. We practice in a diverse number of areas and with a diverse type of client base, industry sectors, cultures and nationalities. We can do this because our lawyers come from a variety of backgrounds and nationalities, have a broad range of personalities and qualifications.

This firm takes a long term view in our training programme and we see our trainees as key future members and leaders of the firm. Most of our current Partners joined the firm as trainees. We continue to recruit graduates for our trainee programme and train and develop the brightest and best young lawyers to be ready to meet the challenges we will face and thrive in any environment.
