Client Account Manager

A&L Goodbody (ALG) are looking to recruit an individual who would be interested in playing an important part in enhancing our business growth strategy. This is a strategically important role that will revolve around driving and coordinating a key client account programme at ALG.

On a day to day basis, the individual will work closely with individual partners, lawyers, business professionals from the Marketing and Finance teams and others from across the business. The role would involve liaising with a number of legal practice groups and industry sectors in both the domestic and international market. The successful candidate will report to the Director of Strategy and to the Clients and Markets Partner.

Role and responsibilities
  • Drive best practice in key account management, bringing oversight, rigour and a process driven approach
  • Produce regular client relationship reporting packs/dashboards for each of the key accounts
  • Work closely with key account partners and teams to identify client needs and potential ALG solutions
  • Interact directly with clients, to help understand and anticipate their needs
  • Work with the Marketing, Knowledge and other teams to capture bespoke activities - bids, events, marketing communications and thought leadership
  • Develop relationship management skills training and support for the key account teams, liaising with external coaches, advisors and the L&D team
  • Oversee the development and production of the individual key account plans
  • Produce regular management information on individual accounts and the programme
Skills and experience
  • Experience in the area of client relationship development, ideally from a professional services business over a number of years
  • Commercial focus and acumen, combined with an analytical and process driven approach
  • An understanding of the client perspective and buying roles
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Proficient in MS office skills (especially PowerPoint) and have experience of managing client relationship databases / tools
  • Project management, organisation skills and mindset
  • Ability to work to deadlines, manage multiple projects and deliver to a high standard
  • An ability to work and build rapport with senior colleagues and to work collaboratively with teams and individuals from across the organisation
  • Excellent attention to detail while working in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to work on own initiative, be proactive and committed to assignment completion
