Legal Technology & eDiscovery Senior Manager - ALG Solutions

The Team

ALG is recruiting the above role in its ALG Solutions group. Our ALG Solutions group is the largest group of its kind in Ireland with over 65 dedicated full time professionals. ALG Solutions is a key component of ALG's innovation strategy and is committed to delivering forward-looking solutions to our client's legal challenges in an increasing digital world. This position is on the side of ALG Solutions group that supports our litigation and investigation teams.

The successful applicant will become a leader in our eDiscovery and Investigation support team within ALG Solutions. The successful applicant will lead their own eDiscovery technology team and will be responsible for the management of, consulting on, and assisting with the growth of RelativityOne across the firm. The successful applicant will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and management of their team and mentoring their training and development.

The successful applicant will also be responsible for the hands-on management of projects from identification to production, liaising with clients and case teams to collect, process and cull data for review, and completing technical tasks within RelativityOne. The successful applicant will act as point of contact for projects and assist case teams to leverage RelativityOne in the most efficient and defensible manner.

The successful applicant will also be responsible for RelativityOne training for lawyers and junior staff, as well as assisting with raising awareness of RelativityOne within the firm. There is also a significant scope for the successful applicant to work with other legal tech products and supporting non-contentious projects.

Requirements

• Third level honours degree or professional qualification in relevant discipline.
• Highly proficient in navigating digital systems and files, forensic skills in data capture and extraction a plus.
• Detailed knowledge of Relativity, Relativity Master Certification a significant advantage.
• Experience navigating large volumes of unstructured data from various sources.
• Technical knowledge of processing data and associated workflows.
• Experience of eDiscovery project management and reporting structures.
• Experience presenting complex concepts to clients and regulators in a clear and impactful manner.

Core Responsibilities

• Managing RelativityOne projects from identification to production, including both technical work within RelativityOne, project reporting, liaising with legal teams and clients, and consulting on how best to leverage the technology.
• Providing RelativityOne training and support to lawyers and junior staff, assisting with RelativityOne marketing efforts, and identifying any areas where additional technology would improve processes and drive efficiency.
• Enforcement and continual improvement of repeatable, legally defensible workflows and best practices within ALG Solutions.
• Assisting the legal team and lawyers with identification and capture of data in a forensically sound manner.
• Assisting the legal team and lawyers understanding what the data is telling them in a case / investigation.
• Implementing protocols within the EDRM to ensure the delivery of best practices.
• Assisting ALG's client technology team with the design and roll out of additional legal technology projects across the firm.
• The applicant's primary responsibilities within the ALG Solutions will be developing and supporting our eDiscovery and investigation service offering. There is also significant scope to diversify and assist:
  • other parts of the firm delivering technology based enhancements to the business;
  • with the development of new client technology projects, whether product or use case based;
  • legal teams to develop and deliver multi-disciplinary projects; and
  • with re-imaging and re-inventing how we deliver certain legal services.

Legal Technology

• The applicant's primary responsibilities within the ALG Solutions will be developing and supporting our eDiscovery and investigation service offering. There is also significant scope to diversify and assist:
  • other parts of the firm delivering technology based enhancements to the business;
  • with the development of new client technology projects, whether product or use case based;
  • legal teams to develop and deliver multi-disciplinary projects; and
  • with re-imaging and re-inventing how we deliver certain legal services.
