Jack Sheehy is a Partner in the Banking & Financial Services department of A&L Goodbody. His principal practice areas are debt capital markets, private equity finance and general banking and restructurings. His other areas of expertise include loan portfolio acquisitions and disposals, high-yield bond issues, securitisation restructurings and the establishment of asset acquisition and loan origination platforms.

Experience

Recent experience includes advising:

  • An international private equity investor in relation to the acquisition and financing of a commercial property backed loan portfolio.
  • An international private equity investor in relation to the acquisition and financing of an auto loan backed loan portfolio.
  • A number of US private equity investors on the financing of acquisitions of standalone Irish commercial properties.
  • The lender in respect of its €770m five-year loan-on-loan facility to the purchaser of the O’Flynn Group's "Project Tower" UK and Irish commercial property-backed loan portfolio.
  • A refinancing by a UK investment group of certain bilateral and syndicate loans made by an Irish led syndicate of banks in connection with a centrally located Dublin shopping centre.
  • A US private equity investor on its investment as junior note holder in an auto loan receivables securitisation and an equity-style joint venture arrangement with the Irish originator of the receivables.
  • A number of private equity, hedge and pension funds on the establishment of loan origination and asset acquisition platforms.
  • A number of Irish issuers on securitisation and repackaging programmes arranged by leading investment banks.
  • LBBW in connection with the cross-border merger of its Irish operations (acquired from Sachsen Bank) with its German operations. This was the first EU cross border merger in Ireland.
  • Royal Bank of Scotland in relation to a securitisation of Ulster Bank's commercial loan portfolio.
  • Elan on its US$600 million high yield bond issuance and cash tender offer.
  • Jazz Pharmaceuticals on its US$575 million exchangeable bonds issuance.
