ALG celebrates Pro Bono Week
This week A&L Goodbody (ALG) is taking part in Pro Bono Week which is being celebrated in Ireland for the first time this year. The week is organised by the European Pro Bono Alliance, a collaboration of Europe's leading law firms along with pro bono clearing houses and organisations. It is being celebrated in ten countries and ALG is one of the host firms for Ireland.
What is European Pro Bono Week?
European Pro Bono Week is an opportunity to encourage, support and celebrate lawyers engaged in delivering pro bono legal services. Each country is hosting events that will focus on the delivery of pro bono to NGOs, including discussion panels on pro bono opportunities and challenges, and celebrations of pro bono matters. Commenting on European Pro Bono Week, Eamonn Conlon, pro bono partner in ALG said: "There is so much fantastic work done by lawyers in Ireland providing pro bono advice to people and organisations that can face barriers accessing the justice system. This week is a celebration of that. The week will feature some great events with terrific speakers and panellists and we are delighted to be playing a central part in that. Pro bono is at the heart of our responsible business strategy and is something we are very passionate about."
