A&L Goodbody joins the Legal Sustainability Alliance
A&L Goodbody (ALG) has become a member of the Legal Sustainability Alliance (LSA). The LSA is based in the UK and is a not-for-profit sustainability network of global law firms and legal organisations.
The LSA was established by some of the leading UK and international law firms as an advocacy and resource network to equip and empower law firms to take effective action on the climate and nature crises. Executive firms and members include all the Magic Circle firms as well as some of the world’s largest international law firms. We are currently the only Irish law firm to be a member of the LSA.
Commenting on becoming a member, Sinead Smith, Head of Responsible Business in ALG, said: “Corporate business plays an important part in tackling the climate crisis. That’s why we are committed to halving our carbon footprint as part of our responsible business strategy. We’re delighted to join the LSA and be part of a network of like-minded law firms where we can share best practice and take collective action.”
Included in our responsible business strategy – “Our future with purpose – ALG’s commitment to sustainability” – is a commitment to reduce our carbon emissions by 50% by 2030. Our carbon reduction programme has been approved by the Science Based Targets Initiative. You can find out more about our environmental goals here.
