A&L Goodbody wins European ESG Initiative of the Year award
A&L Goodbody LLP (ALG) has won the European ESG Initiative of the Year at The Lawyer European Awards 2025. These prestigious European awards were held at a ceremony in London last night which celebrated Europe’s leading law firms.
The award recognises ALG’s social mobility strategy aimed at helping young people from diverse socio-economic backgrounds get access to education and employment. This includes through programmes such as P-TECH, JumpAgrade and Junior Achievement, as well as other access, placement and support initiatives. In 2025 ALG has directly supported over 550 young people through these programmes.
Sinéad Smith, Head of Responsible Business in ALG, said: “We’re so proud to have won this award. Our Social Mobility Committee does great work building effective programmes with our social mobility partners that delivers real impact. A lot of credit must also go to the 120 plus volunteers in ALG who gave their valuable time and expertise this year to help young people in our community. The impact we can have on the lives of these young people is quite profound.”
In winning the European ESG Initiative award, ALG was also shortlisted for European Corporate Team of the Year for advising Cimsa Building Solutions on its acquisition of Mannock Holdings, as well as Ireland Law Firm of the Year.
