ALG lead on the M&A market - Q3 2026
Mergers and acquisitions activity in Ireland remained robust in Q3 with ALG ranked the number one legal adviser by deal count with 57 notifiable Irish transactions in the Mergermarket Global and Regional M&A Rankings.
The ranking reflects the continued trust clients place in our Corporate and M&A team, who continue to advise domestic and cross-border clients on a broad range of strategic transactions.
Key takeaways from the report on the current M&A landscape:
- Ireland is gaining ground as a destination for cross-border investment, moving to third place in Europe, up from 10th last year
- european M&A continues to show strong momentum, with EMEA deal value rising 51% year-on-year to $1.15tn, its strongest first-nine-month performance in dollar terms since the pre-financial crisis boom
- globally, M&A remains robust, with deal value increasing 27% to $4.44tn, the second-highest nine-month total on record, supported by strong activity in technology, healthcare and large-scale transactions
