Four wins for A&L Goodbody at Dealmaker Awards

Our Belfast office was thrilled to claim four awards at the recent Insider Northern Ireland Dealmaker Awards, held at the Europa Hotel in the city. Now in their tenth year, the Dealmaker Awards recognise the leading professional advisory firms and funders in Northern Ireland and some of the best deals in which they were involved.

Associate Catherine Irvine was named ‘Emerging Dealmaker of the Year’ for the “fundamental role she played in a wide range of deals, both local and international, ranging in value from £1m to £254m.”

Our wider 23-strong Corporate team in Belfast, meanwhile, was recognised for its role in a number of deals, including:

  • Advising Danske Bank on its investment in Almac Group – named ‘Bank Funded Deal of the Year’
  • Advising Axial3D on its investment by Imprimatur Capital Management – named ‘Private Equity/Venture Capital Deal of the Year’
  • Advising Kingsbridge Healthcare Group on its investment by Foresight Group – named ‘Deal of the Year (£2.5m-£10m)

In January 2020 we were, for the sixth consecutive year, ranked by Experian as the leading legal advisor by value of total M&A deals transacted in Northern Ireland in 2019. Our Belfast office was recognised as having advised on the most significant deals by value in Northern Ireland, having acted on over 45 transactions across 2019 with a combined deal value of £1.1bn.
