Irish legal sector recognised for pro bono work with PILnet Local Impact Award
ALG is proud to have received the PILnet Local Impact Award for our part in supporting displaced Ukrainian people in Ireland. The award was presented at the PILnet Global Forum in Bangkok on Thursday. We worked alongside other law firms, NGOs, members of the Bar, as well as support from The Law Society of Ireland and The Bar Council of Ireland.
The key objective of this collaboration was to identify the legal needs of the Ukrainian community in Ireland and to provide them with free legal information, support, and advice in the areas where it was most needed.
Eithne Lynch, Head of Pro Bono, said:
"We’re honoured to have received this award, alongside our colleagues in the Irish legal profession and aid organisations in Ireland who helped on this project. It’s through this collaborative effort that we could harness our collective skills and experience to deliver greater impact."
PILnet is a global non-governmental organisation that acts as a global network for public interest law. PILnet partners with legal professionals and civil society organisations across Europe, Eurasia, Asia and beyond to protect civic space, address global challenges and work to build just, equitable and sustainable societies.
