Daniel Shaw is an Associate in A&L Goodbody’s intellectual property, media and technology litigation team in Belfast. Daniel specialises in all aspects of all aspects of media law. He has over eight years’ experience acting for a broad range of clients in reputation protection matters, including both pre- and post-publication matters and managing disputes concerning defamation, privacy, data protection, breach of confidence, harassment and intermediary liability issues before the High Court, as well as the Supreme Court. Daniel’s experience also covers regulatory matters, advising clients on complaints to the Information Commissioner’s Office, Ofcom and IPSO, as well as commercial and intellectual property disputes across various sectors, including technology, retail, music and entertainment.
Daniel is qualified in Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and England & Wales. He trained at a leading London based firm and qualified into the firm’s media law practice, before joining another specialist media law practice in 2022.
