Our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions have been calculated in line with and independently verified to GHG Verification Standard: ISO – 14064-3:2019 Specifications with Guidance for the Validation and Verification of Greenhouse Gas Statements.
*Purchased Goods & Services Emissions have been revised for 2022, 2023 and 2024. These revisions have been independently verified to ISO-14064-3.
Understanding our emissions
Our emissions are categorised as follows:
- Scope 1 – direct emissions from sources we own or control (for example, fuel use for heating)
- Scope 2 – indirect emissions from purchased electricity
- Scope 3 – all other indirect emissions across our value chain, including business travel, commuting and operational activities
We measure emissions across Scope 1, Scope 2 and relevant Scope 3 categories in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and ISO 14064-1. Emissions are expressed in tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO₂e).
We apply defined organisational and operational boundaries to ensure our reporting is consistent and comparable over time. Where estimation is required, we use the best available data and continually seek to improve data quality and coverage. Emissions factors are updated annually to reflect the latest available guidance.
Driving reduction
Reducing carbon emissions is a core priority under our Responsible Business strategy. Our approach includes:
- improving energy efficiency
- generating or procuring renewable electricity
- reducing emissions associated with business travel
- supporting more sustainable commuting, and
- engaging with suppliers to better understand and reduce supply chain impacts
These actions support delivery of our climate targets and wider environmental objectives.
Independent verification
Our emissions data is verified to ISO-14064-3:2019, Specification with Guidance for the Verification and Validation of Greenhouse Gas Statements.
- Verification statement 2025
- Verification statement 2024
- Verification statement 2023
- Verification statement 2022
