Dario Dagostino

Dario Dagostino is a Partner in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department of A&L Goodbody. Dario also heads our Regulatory Risks and Investigations Group overseeing a joint team of financial services and contentious regulatory experts. 

Dario represents international and domestic clients across a range of regulatory issues, investigations and disputes.  He has a particular expertise in the financial services sphere and in engaging with the Central Bank of Ireland across a range of issues including authorisation, regulatory compliance and enforcement.  Over recent years Dario has represented clients in many of the Central Bank's 'administrative sanctions' cases. 

Dario also represents clients in a range of commercial disputes with a focus on civil proceedings with a regulatory aspect and in advising on corporate criminal issues.  Before joining A&L Goodbody Dario worked for 10 years in London with the global law firm Linklaters.


Dario’s recent experience includes:

  • Advising various financial institutions in dealing with supervisory enquiries and enforcement proceedings including those commenced by the Central Bank of Ireland, the Irish Stock Exchange, the Office of the Director of Corporate Enforcement and the Data Protection Commissioner.
  • Advising regulated firms in response to a range of regulatory enquiries including Central Bank 'Themed Inspections' and 'Skilled Person' Reports.
  • Representing domestic and international clients in various commercial disputes before the Irish courts including claims for damages arising from regulatory decisions in the financial services and competition spheres.
  • Representing companies and financial institutions in response to ‘dawn raids’ and other regulatory and public enquiries concerning suspected breaches of competition law, data protection requirements, fraud and other regulatory issues.
  • Advising clients in relation to the conduct of a wide range of internal investigations.
  • Advising on various aspects of compliance procedures including those relating to anti-money laundering and anti-corruption.
  • Advising on self reporting obligations and managing clients’ relationships with regulatory authorities.

Professional Activities
