John Dallas


John Dallas is a Partner in the Energy & Natural Resources and Infrastructure & Construction Groups. He has extensive experience of advising sponsors, lenders and developers on the financing and construction of large scale infrastructure projects, particularly in the energy sector. John also advises on the acquisition and sale of large scale infrastructure projects and on joint ventures within the infrastructure sector. He regularly advises on regulatory matters in the energy sector.

Experience

Significant deals include advising:

  • The syndicate of Irish and international lenders in relation to the financing of the Dublin Waste-to-Energy facility
  • The syndicate of international lenders on the financing of the 105MW Cloosh Valley windfarm
  • Blackrock on the acquisition of the Acres and Barranafaddock wind farms from GE Energy Financial Services
  • The lenders on the project financing of the EdgeConnex datacentre in Dublin
  • Element Power on its Irish development activities including the development, financing and sale of over 100MW of windfarm assets.
  • Nord LB and a number of other international lenders in the project financing of a cluster of windfarm projects with a combined capacity of approximately 150MW.
  • Invis Energy on the development and financing of an excess 220MW portfolio of energy assets in Ireland
  • An infrastructure fund on its investment in a biomass project in Ireland
  • Ulster Bank and Bank of Ireland on the project financing of the Sliabh Bawn windfarm which is co-owned by Coillte and Bord na Móna
