Marie O’Brien

Marie O'Brien is a Partner in the Banking and Financial Services Department, specialising in asset finance and leasing. Marie is very experienced in advising in relation to the acquisition, leasing, financing and trading of a variety of asset classes including aircraft, engines, helicopters, ship, rail, machinery and equipment.


Recent transactions that Marie has worked on include advising:

  • On the sale of large property loan portfolios.
  • Aircraft and engine lessors on acquiring, financing and leasing of new and second-hand aircraft and engines including sale and leaseback transactions and PDP financings.

Marie regularly speaks in Ireland and internationally on asset finance and Cape Town Convention related topics. She currently lectures on the Irish Law Society's Diploma in Aviation Leasing & Finance and on the UCD Law of International Finance Diploma. Marie is Head of A&L Goodbody's Chinese Lawyer's Programme.
