Your Future with ALG

Scroll for more

Our Degree Apprenticeship Programme allows you to begin your legal career while completing a fully funded law degree.

Our four-year programme, delivered in partnership with Ulster University, offers an alternative route into the legal profession. You’ll work part-time within our Belfast office while studying for your degree, gaining practical experience, developing legal skills, and earning as you learn.
What will I learn?

As a legal apprentice at ALG, you can expect to receive excellent training in the practical application of the law from the moment you begin your career with us. As you enter the profession with us, we invest in your ongoing development as a lawyer because we know how important it is to reach your full potential.

As an apprentice, you'll have the opportunity to discover which areas of law interest and engage you most. Some people are born litigators, others love the dynamics of a commercial deal, and some absorb themselves in employment law or restructuring. Our apprenticeship route is designed to encourage and develop every person’s unique qualities. As such, you will have the opportunity to work within our main departments: Corporate and M&A, Disputes & Investigations, Finance, and Real Estate. You will also receive training, development, and mentorship to apply to your studies along the way.

Who can apply?

This programme is open to candidates who have already achieved, or are due to achieve, AAB in their A-levels (or equivalent qualifications/UCAS points).

You will need to apply to the Ulster University Law - Degree Apprenticeship - LLB (Hons), for start in September 2026. You will need to be on track to meet the entry requirements. Degree Apprenticeship programmes are subject to DfE funding approval and the funding remaining in place. Visit the Apprenticeship Hub for more information.
