EBA no-action letter and technical considerations on implementation of the revised market risk framework
On 3 August 2026, the European Banking Authority (EBA) published:
Both measures aim to support consistent and harmonised implementation of the revised market risk framework for EU credit institutions. The European Commission’s delegated act is currently under scrutiny by the European Parliament and Council of the EU.
AMLA survey on central contact points
On 6 August 2026, the Anti-Money Laundering Authority (AMLA) announced it is conducting a survey to assist with the development of regulatory technical standards (RTS) on central contact points (CCPs) pursuant to Article 41(2) of Directive (EU) 2024/1640. The survey seeks feedback from payment service providers and e-money institutions on the implementation and practical application of the current CCP framework under Article 45(9) of Directive (EU) 2015/849 and Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2018/1108. The information collected will assist AMLA with assessing the effectiveness of the existing framework and identifying areas where further clarification or improvements are needed in the future RTS.
Annual report on whistleblowing activities within the Single Supervisory Mechanism in 2025
The European Central Bank published its first annual report on whistleblowing activities within the Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM) in 2025. The report provides an overview of the SSM-wide whistleblowing activities conducted in the context of prudential supervision. It summarises, in an aggregated manner, information on whistleblowing reports received by relevant authorities in 2025, including follow-ups.
Consultation on updated requirements for operational risk management frameworks
On 26 August 2026, the EBA launched a consultation on draft RTS specifying the updated operational risk management framework that credit institutions will need to have in place pursuant to Article 323 of the Capital Requirements Regulation (as amended).
