Emma-Jane Flannery is a Partner and Head of the Employment Team in Belfast with more than 22 years’ experience advising domestic and international clients on all aspects of employment and equality law. Emma-Jane is known for providing practical, commercially focused advice to employers across a wide range of sectors, supporting clients on day-to-day workplace issues as well as complex strategic projects and disputes.
Emma-Jane advises on both contentious and non-contentious matters to include advice on executive appointments, remuneration and severance, TUPE advice arising out of corporate transactions and outsourcing arrangements, complex industrial relations matters, contracts, policies & best practice procedures.
Emma-Jane regularly speak at seminars on employment law developments and provides tailored client training across a range of workplace issues.

- UK clients on modern slavery compliance, policy development, and related employment and supply chain risks.
- Further and higher education sector clients on a broad range of employment and education law matters including the defence of complex claims before the Tribunal.
- Telecommunications services company on various processes arising out of provision of services off-site, to include advice on senior employee change management and detailed step-plan advice on consultation processes.
- A local investment agency client in the defence of multiple TUPE-related claims in the Tribunal. Also represented client in the defence of High Court proceedings arising out of senior executive’s termination.
- Large manufacturing client on the implementation of its proposed LTIP for senior executives across the UK & Ireland. Advising on proposed performance targets linked to growth metrics and on the proposed reward mechanisms. Representing the client in the defence of multiple claims before the Employment Tribunal in GB to include claims for whistleblowing, unfair dismissal and discrimination.
