In 2024, there were 920 new cases, 863 completed cases and 1,206 pending cases before the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) covering both the main court and the General Court. 2025 will prove comparable. In this article, we look at some of the most notable cases before the CJEU in 2025.
The cases concern a broad range of legal topics, from competition and consumer law cases to those involving public procurement and transport. The key findings and principles from each case are set out along with a link to the full judgment.
The article finishes with a look ahead to some of the most anticipated decisions of the CJEU, which are expected to be delivered in the coming months.
