Workplace Services Technician

Reporting to the Workplace Services Manager and working as a technician within the Building Services team.
About the role
The Workplace Services Department covers a broad range of functions within the business. The department is made up of many functions that service the needs of the business within the new state of the art ALG office on North Wall Quay. The Building Services team is responsible for technical user facing services within the building ranging from AV, to laptop/iPhone support, desk side support, and support of technical systems like access control, smart lockers, digital signage and more.
The role of Workplace Services Technician is primarily a technical customer service facing role. The role requires on-site attendance Monday to Friday during office hours, allowing for flexibility for work outside of those core hours at times. The role will be hands-on across a wide technology stack as well as with administrative functions required to perform the required services. The type of work would include but not be limited to:
- IT Services – Provision and hardware support of Laptop, iPhone, peripherals with software support covered by the remote IT Team.
- Starter, Leaver, Changer Process – Provision/de-provision of all required items for staff, IT equipment.
- Technical Services – Support of our smart locker platform, desk/space booking platform, access control.
- Printing Support – Support of the office print solution, platform and hardware.
- Meeting Services – AV Support for the internal, auditorium and 7th floor meetings. Setup of events on site which are organised and run by our Events team.
About the candidate
We are seeking a candidate with a customer service background, that excels in helping people and takes pride in delivery a very high level of service. The role is suitable for those starting out as well as those well established at what they do. Every day will bring a new challenge, so flexibility is key. A technical skillset/mindset is an advantage, but full training will be provided so all that is required is a willingness to learn and to work hard as part of the team. Troubleshooting is an important quality for the role.
You will be joining a strong team of individuals that pride themselves hard work and great service and who are very welcoming and great fun to work with.
You will require the following to be successful in the role: good communication skills both written and verbal, good organisational skills, flexibility, good team player, able to work to deadlines, experience with technical systems, and most of all enjoy dealing with people.
