ALG acted as lead counsel to Optio on its acquisition of Dublin based Construction Guarantee Underwriters (CGU). Optio is a recognised leader in the specialist Managing General Agent (MGA) space, combining deep sector expertise with a progressive, technology-driven approach to underwriting. CGU is a leading provider of performance bonds to building, civil engineering and specialist contractors, providing solutions across the spectrum of construction activity.

This is a strategically significant transaction for Optio as it marks its entry into the Irish insurance market and is the latest in its ongoing European expansion. Congratulations to all involved and we wish the Optio and CGU teams every success in this next chapter.
