ALG advises Lenovo on its acquisition of Phoenix Technologies’ firmware business
ALG has advised Lenovo on its strategic acquisition of Phoenix Technologies’ firmware business, including its related intellectual property and expertise.
Phoenix Technologies has worked closely with Lenovo for over 20 years as a BIOS vendor for Lenovo’s ThinkPad product line. Through this transaction, Lenovo will now bring firmware development in-house, which will strengthen its core engineering capabilities and enable it to accelerate innovation, enhance security, and deepen its vertical integration. We wish the team at Lenovo every success as they drive further innovation as the world’s largest PC company.
The ALG team was led by Corporate and M&A Partner, Alan Casey, with support from Chooi-An Khoo and Sam Griffin (Corporate and M&A), Alan McCarthy (EU, Competition & Procurement), Robbie O’Driscoll and Dan O’Connor (Finance), Stephen Egan (Tax), Bríd NicSuibhne (Employment), and Raaj Zutshi (Technology).
