Ann Shiels is a solicitor admitted by the Law Society of Ireland and is a senior knowledge lawyer and associate in the Asset Management & Investment Funds group at A&L Goodbody. Ann joined A&L Goodbody in January 2002 from the legal department of an Irish fund administrator and custodian where she had previously worked for 3 years. Ann also spent almost 2 years as an associate in the Funds practice area of a Jersey law firm from June 2006 before returning to A&L Goodbody.
Ann has specialised in the establishment, operation and regulation of all types of UCITS, non-UCITS and Alternative Investment funds. She has also advised leading domestic and international financial institutions in relation to fund operations in Ireland, including global administrators and custodians as well as promoters and fund/asset managers.
Ann's current role is predominantly a knowledge lawyer supporting clients and lawyers in the Asset Management & Investment Funds group at A&L Goodbody in applying current, and tracking new, law, regulation and policy in the Irish and European investment funds industry. Ann has a particular interest in sustainable finance and its impact on regulated financial service clients.
